Silent Comic in Illozine 32

A silent comic on the consequences of the strict demographic policy in communist Romania, when abortion and contraception were completely banned between 1966 and 1989 under the dictatorship of Nicolae Ceaușescu. I am very glad that it was selected to appear in Illozine 32 in print

By 1989, an estimated 10,000 women had died as a result of unsafe abortion procedures.  The real number of deaths might have been much higher, as women who sought abortions and those who helped them faced years of imprisonment if caught. Maternal mortality skyrocketed, doubling between 1965 and 1989.
